Medicare (CMS) requires that qualified health plan insurers in the U.S. verify that hospitals use a patient safety evaluation system for reimbursement. In addition, MERP meets CMS MACRA/QPP-MIPS criteria for bonus payments under the “Improvement Activities” performance category as well as the proposed, future CMS RO Model.
